Water Leak Detection Listening Course
Course Length 1 day
CEU's and Contact Hours available.
Course Description
This course is designed to provide participants with the knowledge in the practices of leak detection. The main focus is on the use of listening techniques. Basic correlation methods as well as the impact of leakage on the environment will be presented. Fundamentals of sound will be covered to help improve the participant’s listening techniques. Various equipment and methods will be demonstrated and used to aid students in pinpointing leaks in different pipes types, as well as hydrants. Participants will also learn how to plan, conduct and analyze results of an acoustic water survey. Skills and techniques learned in the classroom will be applied during
the fieldwork portion of the course.
Training method
Classroom followed by fieldwork
